terms

the agreement, kept simple.

These terms govern your use of the These Hours app, website and shared-hour links.

last updated 26 August 2026

1. agreeing to these terms

By creating an account, joining an hour or otherwise using These Hours, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. who may use These Hours

You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live requires parental permission for someone your age to use an online service, you must have that permission.

3. accounts and access

You are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting access to your email account and telling us promptly about suspected unauthorised use. You must not impersonate another person or share a private join link in a way that puts others at risk.

4. shared hours

A host can create a shared hour and invite others using a QR code or link. People in that hour may see the display names of other participants. Guests should use a name they are comfortable sharing with that group. Hosts are responsible for choosing who receives their invitation.

5. your content

You keep ownership of names, notes and other content you add. You give us a limited permission to host, process and display that content only as needed to operate and improve the service. You confirm that you have the right to add it and that it does not violate another person’s rights.

6. acceptable use

Do not use These Hours to break the law, harass or deceive people, expose private information, distribute malware, probe security, overload the service, scrape it at scale or interfere with another person’s use. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect people or the service.

7. a developing service

These Hours is an early-stage product. Features may change and interruptions may happen. We aim to keep the service useful and available, but do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or that every record will be preserved forever. Keep separate copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

8. ending use and deleting an account

You can stop using the service at any time and request account deletion through our account deletion page. We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, security risks or legal requirements. Provisions that naturally continue, including intellectual property and liability terms, remain effective.

9. our intellectual property

The These Hours name, visual identity, software and original site content belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you permission to copy, sell or commercially exploit them except where the law allows.

10. responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your mandatory consumer rights. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss arising from use of this early-stage service.

11. law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts with legal jurisdiction over you may also protect mandatory local consumer rights. We may update these terms when the service or law changes; material changes will be communicated where appropriate.

12. contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@thesehours.com.
